Inspired by it's Jeep heritage, the 2021 Grand Wagoneer definitely is not your father's woody.
When word spread a new Jeep Wagoneer would be coming, most people didn't envision a luxury SUV akin to the Lincoln Aviator or Cadillac Escalade. After first reveal, most viewers were probably thinking—Where's the wood?
Jeep revealed their 2021 Jeep Grand Wagoneer concept vehicle. The word best used to describe the new plugin-hybrid luxury SUV would be premium. Part Suburban, Part Tahoe and Part Escalade, the 2021 Jeep Grand Wagoneer most likely shattered the preconceived concept of what the new Wagoneer would look like.
The Grand Wagoneer Concept features a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle powertrain system. Jeep plans to offer electrification options on all models in the next few years.
It touts 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. It features a 2.0L turbo gas engine with drive modes for the most efficient use of electric power.
2021 Grand Wagoneer Sports Infotainment System Upgrades
As with most 2021 models that have been revealed up to now, the Grand Wagoneer makes a significant upgrade to in-vehicle technology and infotainment systems.
The Grand Wagoneer has provided a touchscreen control option for almost every function within the vehicle. This doesn't mean the old-fashioned manual controls have been removed. Manual controls have been made available, but it's the electronic touchscreen controls that take prominence.
The hybrid Grand Wagoneer provides a front-passenger 10.25-inch horizontal display in the dash. The screen has been positioned so that it can't be seen by the driver—an important safety feature.
The passenger-side touchscreen provides greater real-life use convenience. For example, the passenger side screen allows the user to input and find directions, then swipe the directions to the driver console.
Passengers also have full individual control, and can use their designated screen to watch videos or surf the web.
The 2021 Grand Wagoneer integrates a complete Vehicle Entertainment System, with availability of passenger video screens.
Drivers get a 12.3-inch driver information digital dash cluster display. A 12.1-inch horizontal touchscreen serves as the main display screen in the center console, with a 10.25-inch horizontal comfort display touchscreen below that for feature controls.
2021 Grand Wagoneer Envelops Passengers in Luxury
The Grand Wagoneer Concept offers seating for up to seven passengers, comfortable front- with second-row captain’s chairs, as well as its third row. The interior features customizable ambient lighting, both in color and brightness.
The Grand Wagoneer's large glass windows offer greenhouse-like views, a feature that distinguished the original Grand Wagoneer.
The Wagoneer Combines Sustainability With Luxury
The Grand Wagoneer Concept houses a vast amount of genuine heat-treated lacewood along its interior. This is one of the many examples of how the design team was able to retell a new chapter of the original Grand Wagoneer story in a modern way.
The full suede headliner is made of Dinamica — a fully recyclable premium microfiber suede. The premium carpets are made from Thrive fiber, which is comprised of recycled content using pre- and post-consumer materials. PUR, a sustainable synthetic material, was chosen to upholster all of the seating, console, door and instrument panel surfaces in the Grand Wagoneer Concept.
