The 2024 Blazer EV will come in an SS model with 557 horsepower.and 648 lb-ft of torque.
On Monday, July 18, Chevrolet revealed their all-electric 2024 Blazer EV. The vehicle will be the auto-manufacturer’s entry into the all-electric crossover utility vehicle—joining the likes of the VW ID.4 and Ford Mustang Mach E.
While the public may be focused on the Blazer EV’s electric capabilities, Chevy designers obviously had an eye on performance and premium look and feel.
The 2024 Blazer EV will offer consumers a wide array of trim packages that offer more than just larger wheels. Like its internal combustion engine (ICE) cohorts, Blazer offers multiple engine performance levels not widely offered by other EVs in the category.
The Blazer will come in 4 distinct trims—1LT, 2LT, RS and SS. Chevy will even produce a Police Pursuit Vehicle (PPV) model for police fleet applications.
The Blazer EV SS has the soul of a true sports car,” said Bell. “And while it represents the pinnacle of performance for Chevy’s EV lineup, all models offer stirring capabilities that will surprise and delight true performance devotees — Scott Bell, vice president of Chevrolet
The Super Sport (SS) trim gives customers the most powerful experience in the lineup. It features an exclusive performance AWD propulsion configuration designed to produce up to 557 horsepower and up to 648 lb-ft of torque, and unique WOW (Wide Open Watts) mode enabling 0-60 sprints of approximately less than 4 seconds (based on GM estimates).
The Blazer EV SS boasts more horsepower and a faster 0-60 MPH time than the 2022 Durango SRT 392. That’s if you pay attention to that sort of thing.
Like most EVs, Blazer EV comes with all the latest tech features, and some new ones.
There’s no button to push to start the vehicle. With hands-free start, the driver simply pushes the brake pedal after closing the door and the Blazer EV is ready to go.
The vehicle comes standard with Chevy Safety Assist suite of technologies, with Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Alert, Front Pedestrian Braking, Following Distance Indicator, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning and IntelliBeam.
Designers included some cool tech as well. In the interior you’ll find a 17.7-inch-diagonal color touchscreen and an 11-inch-diagonal color driver cluster.
The 2024 Blazer EV can get about 80 miles out of 10 minutes of high-speed DC fast-charging. A full charge has a range of 247 to 320 miles depending on the trim feature.
The 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV 2LT and RS go on sale in summer 2023, priced starting around $47,595 and $51,995, respectively. The SS follows later in 2023, priced starting around $65,995, followed by the 1LT and the PPV fleet model in Q1 2024. The 1LT will be priced starting around $44,995.
