Top Interiors and User Experience Full of Infotainment Tech

Wards Auto announced their annual list of vehicles with the top interiors for 2022.

In past years, Wards announced winners for best interior and best user experience as 2 different awards. For 2022 the lists were combined, and winners were judged on both together.

This year list of 10 winners contains 5 electric vehicles.

It seems as if auto makers have been pulling out all the bells and whistles to make their EV offerings more attractive to buyers.

That, and the fact most EVs have been marketed to the luxury vehicle car-buyer.

BMW iX

The BMW iX allows drivers to customize every facet of thier experience – including performance settings, display configurations, and lighting in the cabin.

The iX comes with the company's new iDrive Operating System, which connects vehicle infotainment to the finger tips of the driver with 5G technology. Real-time traffic updates and keyless functionality make this vehicle a tech wonder.

In addition, iX M60 model comes with the Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound system – a 30-speaker system with rich, studio-level sound.

Ford Maverick

The Ford Maverick, one of the non-EV models on the list, scored highly for interior design, fit and finish, distinctively styled interior materials, comfortable seating, and technology features such as easy-to-operate infotainment screens, easy pairing, and voice-recognition and advanced-driver-assist systems that perform well.

The Maverick continues to pay big dividends for Ford. It became so popular that new orders had to be suspended due to an inability of the manufacturing to keep up with demand.

Genesis GV70

The Genesis G70 comes with a host of standard safety features. It's loaded with a network of sensors, radar and cameras that process driving data in real time.

It comes with a 10.25-inch HD infotainment display with navigation, Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™.

The G70 includes Surround View Monitor which gives a full 360-degree view around the vehicle. Great for parking and close quarters driving.

In addition you'll get some of the luxury amenities such as wireless smartphone charging and a Lexicon premium audio system with 15 speakers and 660 watts of power.

Jeep Wagoneer

The 2022 Grand Wagoneer features a 10.25-inch passenger screen that provides the front passenger with dynamic touchscreen control at their fingertips.

The passenger screen has three major functions: Co-Pilot (navigation, device management), entertainment (via HDMI or Rear Seat Entertainment control) and the ability to view the exterior vehicle cameras. Passenger screens in both the front and rear feature an HDMI plug, which lets occupants connect their phone or tablet, turning the touchscreen into a mirrored extension of their device, allowing internet searches, music and app use to project through the Uconnect 5 system.

The Grand Wagoneer features a standard 12.3-inch frameless digital cluster with available Night Vision Camera, which uses thermographic technology to augment the reach of the Grand Wagoneer's headlamps. Infrared sensors search for the heat signatures of pedestrians and animals in the road ahead at distances up to 219 yards (200 meters).

Kia EV6

The Kia EV6 features a curved Panoramic 12.3-inch screens provide a stunning, 24 inches of combined curved display for navigation, diagnostic, convenience, entertainment, and immersive vehicle information features. An integrated blue light filter helps reduce eye strain and driver fatigue.

The available groundbreaking head-up display (HUD) shows key safety information and route guidance in augmented reality, providing additional info to help keep your eyes focused on the road ahead of you.

With Virtual Valet Parking Assist, you can remotely park and exit parking spaces from outside the vehicle. Vehicle sensors automatically control the steering wheel, vehicle speed, and gear shifts to easily guide your vehicle into both perpendicular and parallel parking spaces.

Lucid Air

The Lucid Air brings the future to now. It recognizes your key and greets you with a welcome sequence that automatically unlocks the doors, engages the lighting, and extends a handle. Upon settling in, facial recognition adjusts select settings to your personalized preferences so you’re ready to roll.

It also features a 34-inch, 5K glass, cockpit display, over-the-air software updates, a 21-speaker Surreal Sound™ system. The infotainment system is Alexa-enabled allowing for voice commands to utilize the system

Mercedes-Benz EQS580

No surprises in terms of the amount of luxury that comes with the Mercedes EQS580. Heated leather seats create the utmost comfort, with multi-contur ambient lighting.

There's also the Burmester 3D Sound System, a 12.8-inch central OLED touchscreen portrait display and fingerprint sensors for biometric authentication of the driver to activate personalized settings within the vehicle.

Rivian R1T

Rivian has stirred up plenty of publicity, both positive and negative. After some initial challenges with actual vehicle production, the much-heralded rival to Tesla will be impressive if it can keep it's promises.

From the beginning, the auto-maker touted its intentions to be a tech advanced vehicle, with a focus on safety. It comes with a host of safety features like drivin assist, adaptive cruise control, lane change assist and others.

Toyota Tundra

Tundra comes with an available 14-in. audio multimedia touchscreen, all synced up to multiple cameras placed around Tundra. The large interactive display lets you choose different views—providing surround view of the vehicle while inside.

It features available Multi-Terrain Monitor (MTM) * so you can check your immediate surroundings for obstacles as you take on tricky terrain.

Volkswagen Golf GTI

Volkswagen Golf GTI features a Digital Cockpit Pro that includes a viewing option for Digital Sport Layout Gauges with real time performance data like a g-force meter and torque output

Drivers will also get ke less access with push-button start and wireless charging.

There's an available Harman Kardon premium sound system that's SiriusXm compatible that connects wirelessly with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
