The 2021 Ford Edge and Edge ST follow an emerging design pattern in Fords 2021 lineup.

When Ford debuted the 2021 F-150, the company highlighted the fact they designed the truck based upon how owners use the vehicle. It's obvious that the 2021 Ford Edge team committed to the same tact.

The 2021 Ford Edge isn't a complete redesign. In fact, very little has changed with the exception of the infotainment system upgrades.

Manufacturers have generally reserved 12-inch or larger touchscreens for premium trim packages. And then, for the most expensive models.

Ford has changed the trend, including a 12-inch touchscreen as standard equipment.

The infotainment system will come with Ford's newest infotainment interface software SYNC® 4A. The 12-inch screen supports multi-tasking, enabled by splitting the screen into larger and smaller windows (much like that found in 2019-20 Ram trucks).

SYNC® 4A will be the true head-turner so-to-speak for the Edge.

All-new cloud connectivity combines conversational voice recognition with the power of internet-based search results, so you always have access to the latest information. Handsfree driving should become easier, with natural speech recognition enabling communication via SMS and email.

Removing the need to plug-in a mobile device, SYNC 4A includes Wi-Fi enabled Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility and SYNC AppLink. For customers subscribed to SiriusXM® with 360L, the 2021 Edge can also provide a curated listening experience with on-demand streamed content and personalized entertainment channels.

SYNC 4A offers optional Connected Built-in Navigation for traffic and hazard information, parking, gas prices and weather – all stored in the cloud.

Safety and Tech Make 2021 Ford Edge Attractive

Edge was the first Ford SUV to offer Ford Co-Pilot360 as a standard suite of features and continues to offer available advanced driver assist tech including Enhanced Active Park Assist, Evasive Steering Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go and Lane-Centering and a 180-degree front camera.

To make charging mobile devices easier, the 2021 Ford Edge adds two additional USB ports, one being a USB-C – bringing the total to four – to give backseat passengers easier access to device charging.
