Installation of this product would be rated a 3 out of 5. 1 being extremely easy and 5 being extremely difficult. It is recommended prior to installing any automotive electronics that the negative battery terminal be disconnected.

2021+ F150 Sync 4 "APIM" Module Removal & Installation Instructions

This upgrade involves the following procedures:

• Remove the dash bezel surrounding your 8-inch display
• Remove the lower climate control / center stack
• Install Infotainment.com plug & play wiring
• Install new replacement 12-inch display
• Install new replacement Sync 4 / APIM module
• Install new LVDS video cable from Sync 4 module to 12-inch display
• Transfer audio controls onto new center stack trim

THINGS TO KNOW

• Those who are upgrading from a non-navigation equipped system will require in-vehicle programming through our Remote Tablet Rental offering (sold separately). This will not apply to customers who have existing navigation within their 8-inch Sync 4 display or for customers who would prefer to not use embedded navigation featured in the 12-inch Sync 4 upgrade and to use navigation applications via Apple Carplay and/or Android Auto.

• When upgrading from the 8-inch to the 12-inch display you will be sent an extra blank switch to be installed on the right-side of the upper display bezel. This is needed as most vehicles equipped with the 8-inch display have only 2 switches, all 12-inch displays are equipped with 3 switches.
