2018-2023 Jeep Wrangler & Gladiator Auto Engine Start-Stop ESS Disable

INTRODUCTION 

When Jeep decided to start manufacturing vehicles that utilized the Engine Start-Stop (ESS) feature, they chose not to include a way to permanently disable the auto start-stop. So if you want to drive without the engine stopping at every stop light, you are forced to manually push the auto start-stop button to disable this feature, every time you start your vehicle. We, like you, found this to be a bit annoying and frustrating. Why should you, or anybody else, be forced to remember to turn something off, every single time you turn on your vehicle? We didn't think that was fair either, nor did we find it a good use of your mental focus while you are driving through the busy streets of your city or town. We knew that we needed to provide something to alleviate this driving distraction and help the overall safety of the drivers on the road. That is why we now carry our easy-to-install, plug & play device which solves this problem immediately. Just plug it in and go.

In addition to disabling the auto start-stop system, the engine start-stop (ESS) feature can easily be reactivated at the press of a button, if you decide you need to use it. This amazing device gives you back the power to control when & where your engine shuts off. Yes, you will have full control over the ability to disable the auto start-stop feature on your vehicle.

INSTALLATION

Installation of this product would be rated a 1 out of 5. 1 being extremely easy and 5 being extremely difficult. It is recommended prior to installing any automotive electronics that the negative battery terminal be disconnected.

• Locate the security gateway module found behind the driver's knee bolster. (Refer to photo below)
• Unplug the smaller 8-pin plug "C2" and mate it to the device's female connector
• Plug the device's male connector into the security gateway module

THINGS TO KNOW

• Defects are extremely rare. Most "issues" are a misunderstanding of how the device works. The Autostop Eliminator functions to restore the last state. Assuming OFF is your preference, you may need to manually turn auto start-stop OFF once. After that, it'll stay OFF.
